They’re not as unlike as you’d think: in fact, Slytherin/Hufflepuff Hatstalls are far more common on Pottermore than any other kind of Hatstall (and Ravenclaw/Gryffindor the least common.)
Slytherins and Hufflepuffs are both group-oriented Houses, as opposed to the more individual Ravenclaw and Gryffindor; they have a desire to protect members of their in-group. With Slytherins, this generally only extends to immediate family, friends, or other Slytherins (the “if you’re in Slytherin, you’re one of us” mentality), where Hufflepuffs are also about friends, family, and fellow ‘Puffs, but have more qualms about protecting people when they’ve crossed an ethical line or been dishonest.
Both Houses have the desire to accomplish things and care about loved ones; it’s just that Slytherin tends to ignore or bend conventional morality and rules to do so, where Hufflepuffs are much more stringently law-abiding.
Also, both Houses hate the cold and enjoy sunset.
They have their differences (the lawful vs. willingness to “use any means” being the major one; also, PM Slyths are water-centered, PM ‘Puffs plants/animals-centered) and those differences are large, but Pottermore’s quiz, at least, makes them a lot closer or at least easier to Hatstall between than any other House - and by a large margin at that, I have nearly twice the number of Slytherpuff Hatstalls as the next-common Hatstall (which is Slytherclaw.)
